4 Simple Steps to Reach Your Goals

What do you think about all time? What is that thing you want, but don’t pursue? You may think, “Why can’t I just go for it? What's stopping me?” Or, worse, “What’s wrong with me?”


The truth is that before anyone can reach goal, your thoughts need to be somewhat aligned. Because thoughts are shaping your feelings and emotions-which drive your actions and ultimately your results. The phenomenon of letting your thoughts get in the way of achieving a goal is 100% human nature. In fact, it’s so common that I discuss it with clients on a regular basis.


So, here are 4 simple steps to practice every day to help you break the cycle of letting thoughts create feelings that get in the way of you reaching your goals! This work (if done consistently) will elevate your life.

Grab a notebook and a pen and follow these steps:

Steps to Uncover Your Thoughts...

  1. Write down everything you are thinking. It does not have to make sense or look pretty, and it does not even have to be polite. Feel free to drop a couple F-bombs, if you need to. The goal is to free up headspace.

  2. Find the ONE thought that causes the most pain. It’s important to focus on just one thought at a time. You’ll surprise yourself with just how much you change by narrowing in on one.

  3. Start asking yourself questions. Ask yourself why you think that painful thought, so you can uncover whether it’s actually true or something you can part with. I can tell you right now that not all of the 60,000 thoughts you think everyday are true. If you determine the thought is not true but driving you to take an action, it's no wonder you aren't getting the results you want.

  4. Decide if you want to keep the thought or change it. This is the fun part of the process! This is where you get to get rid of the thoughts you don’t like! If the thought you’re focusing on isn’t serving you, then decide what thought you would like to replace it with 🤍

Practicing what I call a “thought download” and journaling may make you feel anxious at first, but it truly is one of the greatest forms of self love that can help you unravel and rid yourself of negative thoughts and self talk. You can enhance every aspect of your life by doing this on a daily basis and focusing on one thought at a time. When you think deliberately and intentionally, you can change your experience of the world and start GETTING AFTER YOUR GOALS!
